Snowpocalypse 2009

About 24 hours into our worst-ever snow-wallop here in Washington, my husband complained about how the anchors on the local news station I had been watching all day talked continuously about the blizzard while not really saying anything at all. A fair point. Still, I liked having it on. But it did get me thinking about the strange things that give people (East Coasters in particular) comfort when they’re experiencing a major weather event.
